Origin of civilisation - logical approach – part 3

Mythology:

A very interesting word, acting as the foundation for every culture around the world, acts as the first education for every child that is born. Remember, kids learn right from the minute they are born and their education begins first in the family before they go to the school, they learn from their parents, grandparents in the form of stories which are from these mythological archives. Each culture has its own mythology which conveys one message overall, there is only one god. Now let’s take a look at what different ideas are suggested by each of these myths and see some of the commonalties between them. Let me take the most widely spread myth, the creation from the GENESIS. It says god created everything day by day and man was created on the 6th day. In our earth a day can be calculated with 24hrs with night and day. This simple question rises in my mind. If at the first point there was no earth, how come they measured the day when earth was created, when light itself was created the second day, how come they came to a conclusion that the earth was created in the first day, when they didn’t even know how to measure a day ? hmmm… makes one think and leads to the next question, is the day mentioned in the GENESIS really refer to the 24hr unit or something else ?is there any other measuring system for a day? Science says when we travel in space our clocks go slower i.e. time slows down, thus a day in space can also be referred by some other reference point in space itself as to fixing some other star, instead of the sun, to calculate the new defined time scale, which can be on a 24 hr scale or some other scale. So the time scale for a day is altered in space. If that is possible, then does the day in genesis actually refer to the day scale given in the Hindu mythological time scale? Take a look for yourself what the Hindu mythology says for time and how they have different scales for time. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hindu_units_of_measurement .So does the day in genesis is actually the one day of Brahma in the Hindu mythology. How many day units do the people following the culture of the Genesis know? So is evolution a detailed description of how god created things in all his 6 days till man, in the scale of 24 hrs?

Let’s go to some older cultures, Greek. Very much famous for its Greek God Zeus, portrayed as the god with lightning as his weapon, and the king of all the gods, who can be compared to the Hindu mythological god Indra, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indra, Ra - Egyptian Sun god, Surya dev in various other mythologies. Assuming that some of the mythological stories did take place, where a person did walk on water, children were born out of gods of wind, gods assisted in war, one major question stands in front of us, how on earth did all such things happen as the people at that times claimed to have happened. Was there a necessity to lie over such a small issue like that of a child birth in a society where incest was normal (remember there were only 1 man and 1 woman at the first and they did populate the earth. There are lot of evidences for practice if incest among various cultures. Interesting to find that now, incest is being frowned upon all over the world). Now I would like to introduce the next factor,”Language”. Language!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What does the means through which people communicate got to do with gods?

Have we taken the word language for granted? What does language mean? You can find the definition of language according to wikipedia here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Language . As one can see, it’s just a means to convey our thoughts. That means any organism which has a thought does communicate with others of its own kind in some cases other species as well (a dog wags its tail to show its enthusiasm to its master). From part 2 we came to know that every organism has its own opinion or thought, meaning we can conclude that every organism does communicate and even science supports it. Birds chirp, dogs bark, elephant trumpets and we humans talk. Of course there are communication losses, funny we experience communication loss in our day to day life with our colleagues, wives, which lead to lot of misunderstandings. Now increasing the borders, the loss increases when the language itself is different. We experience that as well when we are on a conference call with colleagues in Japan, Brazil and other countries. This is communication loss in our own species. Coming to communication loss in cross species between us and the animals, Dog gone mad and attacks master, long time rider attacked by his pet horse. Oops was there a communication loss here. How many times did we have to repeat to teach something to our pets, to do something which we want them to do and how many times have we been successful. When we were successful we have actually communicated our pet to do something we want and after a couple of times the pet has understood us and thus the initial loss stages were gone and now they do what we want when we ask them what to do. Most of the times our communication with these species were through signs or indications but how is that without any indication or sign a dog understands another dog and a cat understands another cat ? How is that we are able to do it only for a very few tasks like shake hands with a dog? Does it mean we don’t know how to talk the dog language or in similar case the bird language or the cat language?

The question now is, can trees talk? Is there a 100 % communication loss between us and the nature itself? The trees, the earth, the wind, fire, water. Don’t we understand what they are trying to tell us? Are we so stubborn that we locked our minds from listening to them? Both evolution and mythology suggest that we humans are the supreme predators. Has god really forgotten to give us the power to talk to nature or have we lost it? In the process of evolution have we really forgotten how to talk to nature?

Now don’t think that this is bullshit, don’t frown with these Q’s

No one on the earth can talk to nature. This is total stupidity, wild imagination, cracked up, is this guy nuts? Where is he going with all this?

Rather read the link below

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/learn/topics/animal_eqs.php The link here is about animals sensing earthquakes or its predators even before seeing them with their visible eyes, in this case we have to give it to the animals, and they are faster than us. How many times have u experienced this in your lives? So can we say animals do understand nature and doesn’t this justify a talking tree or a talking bird depicted in the mythological stories, only for the fact that, the people who were involved actually knew how to communicate to nature. Doesn’t this justify how kids were born of wind, water, fire, only that these people knew how to turn these different elements on :). Now do we really know what language is? Will we be able to solve the current global warming just by asking nature, if we can re trigger our power to talk to them again?

Think about it and in the next part we will talk about how this could have been possible

Origin of civilisation - logical approach - part 2

Now that we know about the nature of change, that, it is gradual and is linked to time, applying this to the common ancestor of humans, can we really say that, only a few numbers in our ancestral group evolved or changed into humans? (For example: in a group of 100, say 10 evolved or changed. This is just to give urself an idea). Write down ur answer. (Hope ur tracking the Q’s and ur A’s). Instead of taking the whole world into consideration, let me just narrow down to one particular region where the population had had its first evolved or transformed group. As the evolution definition says, (Part 1), evolution involves two opposing forces, one that introduces variation in traits and the other which makes certain traits more common. Here I would like to introduce the second factor again attributed to change, “Difference of Opinion” or CHANGE in Opinion. Sounds rather easy to grasp, but the effects of this small phrase can even pierce the sky, (may be it really did!). I think it’s inappropriate here to narrate difference of opinion among humans, and would directly go to the animals and plants.

Animals and plants!!!!!!!!!! . Now, don’t pause, read on …

Ex 1: Difference of Opinion in animals: Simple stray dog fight in the streets – I guess we all have witnessed or at least heard of stray dogs barking at each other, in the absence of humans. How would you like to justify this?

Ex 2: Before increasing the time scale for this factor, please answer this question: Though everyone knows what smoking does to one’s health why is that some prefer to be smokers and the others not? Why some choose to be vegetarians and the others not? Going back in time, did really our forerunners chose what they wanted to be? In simple terms, can I say that amphibians came into being only because a certain number in their group had a different opinion that they really can go out of water and live, (of course they were assisted by physical changes) but did they really dare? That is the question.

Can we justify herbivores, carnivores and omnivores in a similar pattern? If we go back in time again, where the so called organisms haven’t evolved but the plants had, can we apply the same? Don’t forget Venus fly trap and other vicious plants that do exist in the world. Did u get the link between difference of opinion and animals and plants now?

Now going back to our antecedents who have just evolved, can we logically deduce that the difference of opinion in many areas (finding new prey, moving faster, walking on two limbs… etc) grew stronger and stronger with time, that eventually they separated from their ancestors and came into being as the top most predators, while the others in the group who hadn’t dared, continued to remain as chimpanzees or Gorillas and are walking the earth even today.

Before going deep into origin of civilizations I would like to synchronize the mythological ideas to the current status of evolution in this article and its gonna be my part3 contents

Origin of civilisation - logical approach - part 1

The theory of evolution says human beings evolved from one common ancestor while mythology says adam and eve were the first humans, ever since i was in class 12, i was wondering about something very very fundamental, had there been only 2 humans how come we are 6 billion (and counting) today?

Just jot down ur answer for this question in a paper.

My immediate answer for this question was, the first human pair did it, and thus they generated these 6 billion today. This came from the different stories i came across in mythology.

Now switching back to theory of evolution , what can u logically deduct for the 6 billion today ?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolution -
defines evolution as the change in the inherited traits of a population of organisms through successive generations, and describes it further as a product of two opposing forces: processes that constantly introduce variation in traits, and processes that make particular variants become more common or rare.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_evolution -
Human evolution says that scientists have proved that the original ancestors of humans were the Chimpanzees.

From the above, all we can understand is every thing revolves around one particular english word, "CHANGE". A six letter word which sounds very simple but is totally ruling each and every moment of our lives.

Observing CHANGE in different stages and situations in all these years of my life, i learned a few characteristics of it and here is my statement about some particular traits of change itself

1)"CHANGE" has always been gradual in its nature, which i can say with a probability of 95% considering every single living element in this earth,
A few examples
Humans - as humans we change from one form to another in life gradually like an increasing slope, we all enjoyed our childhood did start learning things in our teenage, of course there was an intermediate phase between childhood and teenage and then we will gradually grow old with time, there had never been a sudden gain of 100% (direct switch to adulthood from a baby).

A simpler one
The seasons in a year: its again gradual, unlike the places near the equator, there is always a summer which gradually changes to autumn and to winter and to spring and back to the origin.

Much simpler one
the very day which we go through: there is a sun rise, a noon and an evening and at last the night. There was never a sudden conversion from day to night (except on eclipses and some mythological facts).

Characteristic 2
2)This CHANGE is measurable and its with respect to time, which logically brings us to one conclusion. CHANGE existed ever since time existed or they both were born together as twins and one cant survive without the other.

This CHANGE has played a very important role in our evolution and is in fact playing its part at this very moment making me write about it.
Can u now realise the reason why i focussed on CHANGE when the title says origin of civilisation

Put on ur thinking caps and jot down ur ideas about the origin perhaps the clue below about my next part contents might help

In part2
CHANGE and its part in evolution.
Mythology - change and tribes.
